Joanna Steinhardt is an anthropologist, writer, and editor with an interest in science & technology, religion & spirituality, and multispecies relationships. She is an associate editor at Ayin Press and a freelance book editor. Her writing has appeared in Wired and the LA Review of Books. Joanna has a PhD in Sociocultural Anthropology (UC Santa Barbara, 2018) and an MA in Cultural Studies (the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, 2007). She was a fellow at the LA Review of Books Publishing Workshop in the summer of 2020.

Besides writing and editing, she’s been a tea-monger (at Blue Willow), a communications consultant (at MycoWorks in its early days), and a UX researcher (at the Exploratorium).

She is originally from the Detroit metro area and lives in Oakland, California.
